Nicola Croxford
Nicola first started showing Norwegian Elkhounds in 1983, when she was 11 years old. Winning the first class she ever entered, a handling competition, she became hooked on the Dog life. She has been involved with Norwegian Elkhounds ever since. Travelling around all the shows handling friends dogs until her Parents allowed her to have my own in 1988. Showing successfully at all levels Tammy, “Ch Varanger Tamara” went on to win 8 CC’s and 8 RCC’s. After Tammy, came the first “Whittimere”, Ch Whittimere Silver Cracker.
Nicola first started judging the breed in 1992 and in 2003 awarded her first set of CC’s at the Hound Association Championship Show, a true honour. She has now awarded CC’s three times.
She was on the Committee of the Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain for 12 years, 4 of those as the Honorary Secretary.
But her true love is showing this amazing breed.
William Croxford
Will has always been around Norwegian Elkhounds. Having started showing in the Junior Handling Competitions at the age of 6, then showing his own Norwegian Elkhound in the Breed Ring when he received Kaisa as a gift for his 8th Birthday. They have achieved many things together, qualifying for the breed classes at Crufts every year. They have won many first prizes in the handling competitions. He has also qualified twice for the YKC Handling and twice for the YKC Stakes, both also at Crufts. His biggest handling success was being placed 2nd in the Junior Handling Association Semi-Finals held at Richmond 2008. Will has been very lucky that the Norwegian Elkhound world has helped him so much over the last few years and many people have trusted him in showing their prize winning pets. This culminated in him winning his first CC with his very special friend “Koti” when he was just 10 years old. He has also won Group 1’s with our Norwegian Elkhounds at Open shows and has also been awarded Reserve Best in Show with Tara at the West Bromwich and Wednesbury Open Show in November 2008.
