STUDIO PROJECTS HIGH DEFINITION STUDIOS These two HD studios were built for Reuters Insider, the multimedia information service of Thomson Reuters. The service - delivered exclusively via broadband internet - produces live markets coverage, analysis and breaking news for the financial professional. The larger studio is equipped with four cameras; the smaller one, three. Both are equipped with Kayak HD vision mixers. CHROMAKEY INTERVIEW STUDIO This studio is part of the Globelynx fixed camera network, which enables instant live television interviews and commentary direct from the business and financial sector, without the time and expense of camera crew deployment satellite trucks or travel to studios. It comprises two remote-controlled camera heads: one on the studio floor, and a second one in the Underwriting Room to provide alive background shot. Optionally, the backgrounds can be pre-recorded onto a disk recorder, or taken from a still store. THREE-CAMERA FLYAWAY STUDIO The system was designed to provide news coverage of small events and press conferences, and was built with ease-of-rigging in mind. It supports three Sony DXC-D30 cameras, two VTRs and three outside sources, and provides two independant outgoing lines. Audio contributions, outgoing clean feeds and remote talkback are realized using four ISDN2 circuits. Budgetary constraints compelled the use of a large proportion of second-hand equipment, yet the studio has proved to be very successful, and enormously popular with its crew. THREE-CAMERA COMPOSITE (NTSC) STUDIO This 3-camera studio was designed to host live 1+1 or 1+2 interviews, with additional contributions from outside sources. Up to three of these outside sources may be implemented using low-bandwith videoconference technology, conveyed via multiple ISDN2 circuits. An interesting feature of the design is its 2-way language translation feature. Using two live translators, independent Japanese and English audio outputs can be provided, irrespective of the languages used by the participants. |
